Iron County Convention 2026
On Friday, March 27th, the Iron County Democratic Party is holding our annual County Convention at the Courtyard Marriott in Cedar City, starting at 6 pm with time to socialize. Dinner and official business start at 7 pm. We’d love to see you there!
Not to brag, but we hear we put on the best county convention in Utah. Come for the democracy, stay for the fun and community!
What is the county convention?
The county convention is where the Democratic Party does its most local, most tangible work.
It’s the step in the political process where real decisions get made by real neighbors, not distant officials or big donors.
Here’s how it fits into the bigger picture:

This is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for!
📢 Your voice matters here.
This is one of the few places in politics where an individual person, not a donor or a lobbyist, genuinely shapes what happens. It’s democracy at its most personal.
📍 Be part of something local.
Politics can feel abstract and far away. The county convention is refreshingly close to home, with real neighbors making real decisions about your community.
🤝 Find your people.
If you care about making Iron County a better place, come meet the others who feel the same way. The convention is as much about building relationships as it is about casting votes.
📋 Have a say in what the party stands for.
Got a cause you care deeply about? Water conservation, education, housing, healthcare? This is where you bring it into the room and advocate for it directly.
🌱 Get involved at any level.
You don’t need experience or a title to participate. Showing up is the first step, and there’s a place for everyone, whether you want to vote, volunteer, or see what this is all about.
⚖️ Be part of the process.
Representative democracy works best when more people are engaged in it. Coming to the convention is a tangible, meaningful way to be an active citizen rather than a spectator.
Frequently asked questions:
Do I need to be a registered Democrat to attend?
Nope! Anyone is welcome to come, observe, and be part of the conversation. You do not need to be a registered Democrat to attend.
I wasn’t elected or appointed as a precinct officer. Can I still come?
Yes! You do not need to be a delegate or precinct officer to attend. Come meet candidates and fellow attendees, and observe and participate in the meeting.
Can I bring a friend?
Please do! We’re seeing real momentum in Iron County, and the more people who show up, the stronger our voice becomes. Bring a neighbor, a coworker, a family member. Anyone who cares about this community is welcome.
